Unlike typical hosting companies that sell ultra cheap space on the Web only to leave you on your own to figure out what to do with it, MyDotGuy works the other way around. We’re not a hosting company with a site builder application for you to figure out or a list of Web developers you can try to get a hold of to build your site, we’re Web developers that also happen to host.

Cheap hosting is cheap for one reason and one reason alone, they have a zillion people using their service—enough so that they can only afford to help each of them so much. As a result, if you have a problem, you call a support line and sit on hold or fill out a trouble ticket and wait for someone to read it. If you have to call again, you get to start from the beginning with your question with a totally new person.

Then, once you get off the phone with your host, you have to get back on with your developer for changes to your site. Maybe your developer has a question only your host can answer, or maybe it’s the host that needs to talk to the developer. Either way it’s two different people, two different numbers and a whole lotta calls.

Your relationship with us is different. The person who built your site is the one you call with questions about hosting, design and content changes, email addresses…anything really. We don’t need your customer number, we remember you and your Web site.
